Mook sandals

Pieces made with three distinctive techniques from the south of Mexico: the Mayan backstrap loom, jipijapa weaving and carving from the remains of recovered horn. Pieces that are juxtaposed with different elements to form MOOK. A Mayan loom based piece with a delicate piece of reclaimed horn assembled over the jipijapa woven circles.

MOOK is the bond that fuses the talent of each of the artisan communities that make Colección Peninsular a collaborative project full of pride in making each piece unrepeatable. It symbolises the emotion and pride of each of the social enterprises that participate in this project to see the process and result of each component materialise and become unrepeatable pieces.

Nude coloured flat sandal made of regenerated materials with comfort sole and ecru Mayan loom textile with cotton thread assembly, recovered horn links and Jipijapa fabric. Finished with a semi-square toe.

CUT: Textile. Application of Mayan loom with cotton thread assembly, recovered bull horn remains and Jipijapa applications.

SOLE: Special cushioned insole for greater comfort.

COLOUR: Ecru and multicoloured (shades from black to amber).

VARIANCES: As they are 100% handmade and made of natural materials, none of them are identical, each piece has unique variations in texture and shades ranging from black to amber tones. The images shown are a colour reference.
